My name is Kaelan Mikowicz (15) From S1-04 and this is for the e-learning task
I loved doing this task as it allowed me to learn more about my neighbourhood, I learned of parks that I had not even heard of. I also got a chance to learn more about places as I was deciding whether or not to use them in my travelogue. I had trouble finding time to visit some of these places to collect data and I had to turn to the internet for information. Even on the internet, it was hard to find reliable sources on the places and sometimes the places were new and they had not much history.
Some of the places were not very much exciting, but I decided to use them as they were quite good for leisure and recreational use.
Choosing the landmarks was tough as I live in a mostly residential area where most of the stuff is new or has been renovated. As such there was not much of a history that I could write about. I wanted to use schools but I thought that doing that was a form of "free advertisement" for them and that other schools would not be happy.
If I had another opportunity to do this assignment, I would plan better to be able to have a chance to visit all of these places.
